EU tobacco ban could be dropped

The tobacco industry may have won an important victory in the European Court of Justice which could see the scrapping of legislation banning cigarette advertising following the issuing of an Opinion by the Advocate-General on 15 June 2000 in an important case brought by four tobacco companies and the German Government.
