Press Release: Structural Funds: Commission approves EUR 1,750 million education, training and employment package for the Netherlands

On 9.8.00 the 'Single Programming Document' for the Netherlands for the next seven years was approved by the Commission. This Objective 3 programme financed by the European Social Fund will support measures to adapt, strengthen and modernise education, training and employment in the country from 2000-2006. EU financing for the seven year period will total €1,750 million. This decision is one of many currently being taken by the Commission to launch the new Structural Funds programming period.
