Council agrees EU position for CITES conference on endangered species

The Council on 12 March 2010 adopted the EU position on proposals submitted to the 15th conference of the parties to the Convention on international trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora (CITES), to take place in Doha, Qatar, from 13 to 25 March 2010. The decision aims to preserve biodiversity by restricting international commerce in endangered species in the framework of CITES.
