The European Union business incentives report. The comparative guide to EU regional investment

'The European Union business incentives report' is a regularly updated volume providing basic market information relating to the countries of the EU and beyond. The report has been recently expanded to include the countries of Eastern and Central Europe (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Yugoslavia), in addition to the EU Member States. For each EU country there is a colour map showing transport links, major cities, etc. Unfortunately, there are not equivalent maps for the CEEC countries. Following the maps there is a profile for each country providing concise information of economic, political and social indicators. The next section for each country provides information about business incentives (including grants, loans, tax incentives and regional incentives). Finally, there is a section for each country on taxation and labour regulations covering both the personal and corporate sectors.

In addition to the information provided in the country profiles, there are a series of charts providing further comparative information. For the EU Member States these include the EU budget, expenditure by Objectives of the EU Structural Funds, taxation, EU and foreign direct investment, trade, GDP, inflation and unemployment. For the CEEC countries the charts are limited to GDP, FDI and inflation. Finally, there are contact details given for trade and investment agencies, chambers of commerce and other business-related organisations. There is also brief information concerning EU-level financial assistance programmes.

The volume is published as a hard-cover printed volume, but purchasers should note that the publishers continuously update the information and publish new editions on a quarterly basis. The purchase price includes the automatic sending of a complete update after six months.
