Hello Europe CD ROM

Subtitled 'A youth guide to Europe and the European Union' this multimedia, interactive CD ROM is aimed at a similar audience to 'Europe in the Round' (see below). Brightly presented, it includes photographs, maps, tables, charts, statistics, video clips and sound as well as explanatory text. You can move around using the contents structure, hyperlinks or the search function, while the back track window allows you to return to any of the last thirty pages visited. It contains information about the fifteen EU Member States together with eleven applicant countries and deals with how the EU works, its politics and history, studying and working in Europe, and its culture. Country information covers geography, economics, demography, political systems, customs and food. The EU glossary provides descriptions of EU policies. Especially interesting features are the interactive session on the decision-marking process and the phrase book where you can hear helpful expressions in 11 official languages.
