EU legislation: Definition of SMEs. The Commission has adopted a proposal for a Directive to adapt the financial thresholds in the definition of SMEs in EU financial reporting, as laid down in the EC Fourth and Seventh Company Law Directives. The proposal would allow Member States to extend derogations from EU financial reporting requirements to more SMEs, of which there are more than three million in the Single Market. |
