EU budget: Budget Council, 8.12.98. Following the discussions of the Budget Council on 24.11.98, the Council held a further meeting with a European Parliament delegation on 8.12.98 to examine the issue of the conditions and flexibility of the budgets according to the overall result of the negotiations and the ceiling of the future financial perspective. As a result of this, an agreement on the 1999 budget was possible and the EP formally adopted the 1999 budget on 17.12.98.
