Other information: Competition policy: vertical restraints. EU Industry Ministers reached a political agreement at the Industry Council on 29.4.99 on two agreements giving the Commission the necessary powers to complete the reform of competition policy applicable to vertical restraints (agreements between producers and distributors). The Council were expected to formally adopt the Regulations in May 1999. Subsequently the Commission will publish a draft block exemption regulation and draft guidelines intended to clarify its policy on cases not covered by the block exemption regulation. |
