Review of the Solvency II implementing measures

Briefing: Scrutiny Papers are drawn up by officials of the relevant committees of the European Parliament to help Members of the European Parliament on the committees in their work on scrutiny of delegated acts.This briefing focuses on a review of the implementing measures under Directive 2009/138/EC on the taking-up and pursuit of the business of Insurance and Reinsurance (Solvency II). Items for discussion included amendments to the Solvency II Delegated Regulation in the context of the Capital Markets Union and the review of the Solvency Capital Requirement standard formula, as well as the overall review of Solvency II.

The Briefing was prepared for a Scrutiny Session of the European Parliament Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs on the 16 May 2018.
