Recent publications from the Council of Europe: Over the past forty years, the Council of Europe has played a pioneering role in the efforts to promote international co-operation in the fight against criminality. It has succeeded in establishing a comprehensive network of international treaties - European conventions - providing for many forms of co-operation - extradition, mutual assistance, protection of victims, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, and transfer of criminal proceedings. It has successfully adapted these general conventions to the particular needs of modern crime control through amending protocols or through recommendations on the practical applications of these treaties. This publication reproduces the principal Council of Europe Conventions on co-operation in criminal matters. Council of Europe |
