General denies Turkey sliding back into large-scale separatist violence

Speaking on 19 July 2005 Turkish General Ilker Basbug denied Turkey was returning to 1990s levels of separatist violence, despite a rise in attacks by Kurdish rebels on security forces and civilians in recent months.
