The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) on 24 October 2005 welcomed three proposals related to the Second Generation Schengen Information System (SIS II), albeit with some reservations. The EDPS provided a number of comments and amendments that, if taken into account, would ensure that the SIS II proposals respect the fundamental rights of the people concerned.
