The United States Energy Information Administration has published a report which concludes that reducing greenhouse gas emissions would cost much less than opponents of emissions reduction had said. The EIA analysed a set of recommendations made by the National Commission on Energy Policy in late 2004 and the EIA findings will support the case of European Union officials who met their counterparts in Washington on 18 April 2005 to discuss co-operation on environmental issues.
