The Irish Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Michael McDowell, on 9 August 2005, announced that the Irish Government had agreed to his proposal that Ireland should accept an EU Council Regulation which would create an Immigration Liaison Network (ILO). The Government's decision to accept this Regulation would be subject to the approval of the Oireachtas (Parliament). |
