Press Release: Mergers: Commission refers proposed acquisition of Plus Discount by REWE to Czech Competition Authority

Following a request from the Czech Competition Authority under the EU's Merger Regulation, the European Commission decided to refer the assessment of the acquisition of the Czech retailer Plus Discount by REWE of Germany to the Czech Competition Authority. The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would only affect competition in the Czech Republic and that the Czech authority would therefore be best placed to investigate its potential impact.
