The Irish Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley, on 12 May 2008, made an order appointing Thursday, 12 June 2008 as the polling day at the referendum on the proposal for the amendment of the Constitution contained in the Twenty-Eighth Amendment of the Constitution Bill 2008. Every person who is an Irish citizen and is included in the 2008/2009 register of electors is entitled to vote at the referendum.
