Article reports that as France returned to work on the 1 September 2010 after the summer break, it was clear that pressure would continue on Eric Woerth, President Nicolas Sarkozy’s social affairs minister ensnared in the scandal surrounding Liliane Bettencourt, France’s richest woman. The accusations came at a bad time for Mr Woerth, who was spearheading Mr Sarkozy’s important but controversial pension reform bill that was due to go to parliament on the 7 September 2010. Unions had already called for national strikes on that day. |
