Whitehall blamed for red tape tangle

According to a report by a UK organisation called the European Movement, less than 10% of new regulation in the UK comes from the European Union. The report criticises the UK Treasury's claim that the EU is responsible for half of significant new regulations and accuses the UK Government of 'gold plating' (i.e. over-elaborating) EU Directives.
