Ukraine's Supreme Court ruled on 3 December 2004 that the disputed Presidential election of 21 November 2004 be rerun on 26 December 2004. The decision was welcomed by supporters of Viktor Yushchenko, Ukraine's opposition leader, but is a disappointment for Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich, official winner of the disputed election, and President Kuchma who backed him. |
