Poll result leaves Blair more isolated

The defeat of the Spanish Government in Parliamentary Elections on 14 March 2004, three days after terrorist bombings in Madrid, raises the possibility that the UK public would turn on their Government if a terror attack took place in the UK. Along with the Spanish Government, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair was a staunch supporter of US actions in Iraq.
