Paris urges EU to build fusion centre alone

In a move which threatens to damage a global scientific effort bringing together the United States, China, Japan and the European Union, the French Prime Minister, Jean-Pierre Raffarin, suggested on 13 January 2004 that Europe should build the world's biggest nuclear fusion research centre on its own.
