The Wood Review, which was announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in the 2003 Pre-Budget Report in response to comments from industry, investigated UK businesses' experiences of competing for public contracts in other EU countries, including their concerns about unfair discrimination and different approaches to the application of single market public procurement rules. The review was led by Alan Wood, Chief Executive of Siemens plc, with the support of the Office of Government Commerce.
