The Forty-Third Plenary Session of the National Forum on Europe took place at The Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, Ireland, on 29th April 2004. This transcript includes a keynote address by Guiliano Amato, Vice-President of the Convention on the Future of Europe and former Prime Minister of Italy, also extensive statements and questions by politicians from across the political spectrum and Senatore Amato's answers.

The Irish Government announced, on 9 April 2009, that it had decided to close the National Forum on Europe. The purpose of the Forum, which was launched in October 2001, had been to promote public debate on the EU, its enlargement, its future and Ireland's place in it.
