Broad approval for new Commissioners, April 2004

After hearings extending, 13-15 April 2004, of the Commissioners-designate of the ten accession countries, the chairs of the European Parliament's various committees addressed a series of letters to Parliament's President, Pat Cox, giving their assessments of the candidates. These letters, one per candidate, while generally positive, nevertheless included some critical remarks.
