Press Release: McDowell opens international conference on European Strategy on Drugs

The Irish Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Michael McDowell, on 10 May 2004, opened an international two day conference on drugs, entitled 'EU Strategy on Drugs - The Way Forward'. The conference was one of the main events of the Irish Presidency and prepared the ground for the December European Council, which was expected to approve a new EU drug strategy from 2005 onwards.
