Agreement was reached at a meeting in Tunis in May 2004, organised by Europêche, Association of National Organisations of Fishing Enterprises in the European Union, to create a trans-Mediterranean association of fisheries organisations known as Medisamak. Medisamak has received financial support from the European Union, and currently gathers organisations from 11 Mediterranean coastal states: Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Spain and Tunisia. |
