Italy lambasts ‘core Europe’ idea

Franco Frattini, Italy's Foreign Minister, is concerned at efforts by France, Germany and the United Kingdom to co-ordinate their foreign policies more closely, saying he opposed the formation of a 'directorate' to guide the European Union.
