Energy research

The aim of this website is to provide information regarding the objectives, activities and policies of the European Commission (EC) with respect to European Union (EU) Energy Research. The website intends to promote greater awareness and understanding among researchers, industry, policy-makers and the general public about all aspects of EU energy research and EC activities in this area. The website provides information on the latest developments in the three main areas of energy research: Non-nuclear energy - clean energy technologies, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources; Fission and radiation protection - waste management, radiation protection and increased safety; Fusion - demonstrating the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion as a viable source of safe, clean and abundant energy for the future.
