Pro-euro call to promote fixed-rate mortgages

A report published on 6 May 2003 by the (UK) pro-euro pressure group, Britain in Europe, argues that homebuyers should be given tax relief if they switch to long-term fixed-rate mortgages. The report's authors claim such a move would help make Britain's system of housing finance more like continental Europe's.
