Feature previews the European Commission's review of the 10 year old Working Time Directive. It is thought to be critical of the "abuse" of the "opt-out" clause by the United Kingdom. The opt-out clause was created in response to the UK Government's demands that individual workers should be allowed to opt-out of the 48-hour limit on working hours, set by the 1993 Working Time Directive. The UK Government is apparently already considering measures to remove abuses.
