Press Release: Walsh sets out bottom line for agriculture in WTO negotiations and stresses importance of policies to assist developing countries

Shortly before departing for the Fifth WTO Ministerial Conference, which took place in Cancun, Mexico, from 10 to 14 September 2003, the Irish Minister for Agriculture and Food, Joe Walsh, stated that, whilst his objective was to facilitate a successful outcome in a properly balanced and fair agreement, concessions which would require further reform of the CAP would not be given.
