The European Court of Auditors published its Annual Report for 2001 on 5 November 2002. The report confirms many of the allegations made by Marta Andreasen, the suspended European Union Chief Accountant, who claimed the European Commission's accounting system is deeply flawed. The Court draws attention to the 'relative indifference' of some of the Commission's Director-Generals towards questions of records and accounting controls.
