The UK Government published its National Security Strategy, 'A Strong Britain in an Age of Uncertainty' on 18 October 2010. The Strategy outlines the Government's reappraisal of Britain’s role in the world, the risks to its security and the implication of these risks for the country. Together with the Strategic Defence and Security Review, 'Securing Britain in an Age of Uncertainty', published the following day, it sets out the Government's strategic choices on how to ensure Britain's security. Four national security priorities are highlighted: counter terrorism, cyber security, international military crisis and national disasters such as floods and pandemics. |
