Press Release: Forum chairman says Oireachtas scrutiny of EU legislation is under-resourced

The Chairman of the 'National Forum on Europe', Senator Maurice Hayes said, on 28 November 2002, that the committee of representatives and senators charged with scrutinising EU business on behalf of the electorate was 'seriously under-resourced'. The National Forum on Europe was established in Ireland in October 2001 to facilitate a broad discussion of issues relevant to Ireland's membership of the EU.
