US calls for farm export subsidies to be axed

The US will push in global trade talks for complete elimination of farm export subsidies over five years, Washington's top agricultural trade negotiator, Allen Johnson said at the WTO in Geneva, 4 June 2002. The move is certain to add to transatlantic trade friction .
