Memo: Civil society to give its views on integration of migrants

One hundred organisations from the Member States of the European Union and ten applicant countries took part in a conference on 'Immigration - the role of civil society in promoting integration' on 9-10 September 2002 in Brussels. The conference was organised by the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). The conference was an opportunity for the social partners and civil society to express their ideas, exchange views and give recommendations to the Convention on the Future of Europe, within the process launched by the European Commission for formulating a Community policy on immigration
