European Commission adopts new framework for co-operation with Uruguay

The European Commission on the 2 August 2002 adopted a five-year strategy (2002-2006) for its co-operation with Uruguay.

The Country Strategy Paper (CSP) provided the framework for relations with Uruguay, covering all aspects of assistance towards that country. The chief objective is to support economic reform, the modernization and reform of the State and social development. An indicative figure of €18.6 million(1) has been agreed to support this strategy during the period 2002-2006.
