Schroeder’s international challenges

Following the re-election of the German Social Democratic Party and its leader Gerhard Schroeder on 23 September 2002, the German government will now have to divert its attention from campaigning for votes to mending relations with the United States over Iraq and dealing with the problems of economic and social reform.
