Internal procedures for the approval of a Commission Regulation to limit imports of certain steel products for which there is the threat of serious damage to EU industry as a result of the US President's decision of 5 March to impose punitive tariff increases on these products, were launched on 26 March 2002. The European Commission expects the Regulation to be approved on 27 March and enter into force in early April. |
