Face-lift for TED, April 2002

Subscribers to the OJ S CD-ROM will have noticed that it now has a completely new look but the changes are more than just cosmetic. Users will be pleased to know that it is now browser independent, so no more struggles with the wrong version of Netscape. Also no installation procedure is required as the CD-ROM runs automatically. The help facility has been substantially developed to provide both general and contextual assistance. In addition it is now possible to generate statistics on published notices and export them into an Excel spreadsheet. Select Statistics mode via the options button on the menu bar. Instead of providing the usual list of results your search will produce statistical data on the number of records which meet your search criteria. The overall aim of the changes is to make the CD-ROM easier to use as well as provide additional functionality. The new look is to be extended to the TED database, the online version of the OJ S CD-ROM, as well and is expected to be launched shortly. Meantime you can check out the pilot version of the online database at http://ojs2002.sz-sb.be. A direct link from the CD-ROM will provide a seamless link to update searches.
