EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy inaugurated a brand-new office in Geneva on 16 January 2002 to improve the representation of the interests of the 77 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries at the World Trade Organisation. The office, financed by an EU grant of €1.45 million, will help ACP countries co-ordinate their views and strengthen their position in WTO negotiations. It will also deliver technical assistance to individual ACP country representations in Geneva.
