Press Release: The fight against doping: the European Union steps up dialogue in the Mediterranean area

At the initiative of the French Minister for Youth and Sport and with the active support of the European Commission and the Moroccan Minister for Youth and Sport, a conference on the fight against doping in sport has been organised by a number of Mediterranean countries. This conference, which will be held in Marrakech on 21-23 January 2002, will bring together representatives from some 40 countries and international organisations, will be an opportunity to look at what is being done in the Mediterranean countries to counter doping and will help to enhance the Euro-Mediterranean dialogue.
