After the UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, was forced to expand the guest list at a London dinner meeting with the leaders of France and Germany on 4 November 2001, there were protests from the countries that were excluded. There were claims that Mr Blair's actions could undermine the European coalition behind US-led action against those held responsible for the terrorist attacks in the United States on 11 September 2001.
