Memo: The Europe-Africa Ministerial Meeting of 11 October 2001

The Europe-Africa Ministerial Conference which will take place on 11 October 2001 in Brussels is the first encounter at political level since the Heads of States met in Cairo in April 2000. It is intended as a mid-term rendez-vous between Cairo itself (which was the first encounter at the highest political level between African and European leaders), and the next Europe-Africa Summit planned for 2003 in Lisbon.
