Intensive farming is turning olive groves into deserts

According to a new report by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and BirdLife International, intensive farming is changing European olive groves into deserts. The process is being driven by the European Union subsidy which, allegedly, encourages intensification of production, irrigation and the expansion of olive growing.
