Text of a statement by Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission, following the arrest of the former Yugoslav president, Slobodan Milosevic on 1 April 2001. Mr Prodi said that the new Yugoslav leadership had done the right thing in arresting Mr Milosevic and that those accused of crimes against humanity must be brought to trial. |
