EU stands ready to make progress with Chile in Fourth Round of Association Negotiations, 12-15 March 2001

On 12-15 March 2001 the fourth round of Association Negotiations with Chile were held through a series of parallel political, co-operation and trade meetings at expert level.

They included discussions on the institutional framework of the future agreement, on social and cultural co-operation and on EU negotiating proposals for a broad range of items on the trade agenda. In addition, the Commission launched an important Business Facilitation initiative towards Chile and Mercosur, which was discussed for the first time.
