The number of Europeans who view minority and migrant groups as enriching the cultural life of their country is growing, and in most EU Member States the 'actively tolerant' people outnumber the 'intolerant'. These results were confirmed by a Eurobarometer survey commissioned by the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC) in Vienna.

Please note that the EUMC was replaced by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in 2007. This press release is no longer available on FRA's website.
