Road freight transport at regional level in the European Union. Data 1996

This publication presents the first results of a study on developing the regional dimension of road transport statistics. The overall aim of this study is to provide users with data on road freight transport within and between the regions of the European Union, based on statistics supplied to Eurostat by Member States, but using modelling to extend these data to cover flows for which directly observed data are not yet available. In addition, the model also allocates transport flows to the road network, which makes it possible to present and analyse these data in spatial terms.
