Recent demographic developments in Europe. 2001

Book abstract:

This book is a yearly Council of Europe publication presenting the latest available information on population developments in 46 European States: population size, rate of increase, migration, marriage and divorce, fertility, mortality and foreign population. It is prepared by the European Population Committee, which is the Council of Europe's intergovernmental body responsible for demographic matters, in cooperation with national statistical offices.

The report includes an accompanying interactive CD-Rom in which the user will find for each country a short national report with tables presenting the latest developments in the main demographic indicators and a pyramid describing the age structure of the population in each of the 46 countries included in this volume.
